So, you’re in need of a gift for someone special. But let’s be honest, we all know you have no idea what to get them.
You could go on Etsy or Amazon and find some cool trinket or toy that they would most certainly enjoy! Although, this year is different, you want something that is as special as they are. Something that means the world to them. Maybe it's been a rough year; we’ve lost a few souls. Or maybe there was an extraordinary moment that a plain photo can’t capture.
For any occasion, customized artwork is a great gift for those hard to buy people.
While photos can speak a thousand words, it is my true belief that an artists work can leave one speechless.

My name is Tausha Barrett; I am based in Gillette, Wyoming.
I didn't always know I was going to be an artist, as I wanted to be many things when I grew up. For many years I trained and practiced as a Veterinary Technician at one of our local vet offices and I loved it! But many of my collogues encouraged me to take another step with my artwork. What went from a few pet portraits during Christmas time, became a full-time Pet Portrait business venture.
Pets were just the first step, now I can recreate your most favorite moments in the form of art. I am a self-taught artist and can work with various mediums, my favorite being charcoal and pastel.

This 11”x14” portrait was created for Lynda L Warner for her fathers 80th birthday. You see Jim and his granddaughter, Jessica, who he and his wife raised. Jess was an amazing human being who beat many, many odds. She returned to heaven Aug 30, 2016. This is amongst one of my most favorite pieces.
Pastel drawings are created with a stunning collection of high quality Pitt Pastel by Faber-Castell and Stabilo CarbOthello, on pastel paper. They are oil and wax-free, high pigmentation leads that give you dramatic results and retain their vividness of color over time. All portraits are lightly sprayed with a matte finish and framed in a black frame.
Each drawing is made with high quality paper that should not buckle or distort if treated with care. The materials used for each drawing is a combination of graphite and black and white charcoal. Once finished, a fixative spray is layered over the top and the portrait is then matted and in a black frame.
For their first Client Appreciation event, Red Hills Veterinary Hospital selected some of their best clients to each receive a customized portrait of one of their pets. This was a great gift idea and helped their clients appreciate the appreciation!
Personalized portraits are the perfect thing for pet lovers. Whether you have lost your companion or you’re snuggling them right now, capture them in the form of art.
Let’s face it, you have a cute pet, and I want to draw it. So have your people call my people and we’ll schedule you for your own custom portrait.
In this section I would like to keep you all up to date on all of my practice sketches. I encourage your critique of my art!
